Rooibos Ltd helps to ensure success of IPUF-SEB conference on indigenous plants

From 28 June to 3 July 2015, Rooibos Ltd participated in the joint conference of the Indigenous Plant Use Forum (IPUF) and Society for Economic Botany (SEB). More than 220 delegates from 23 countries attended this event titled Global Vision on Indigenous Plants and Economic Botany. Read more.

Rooibos at exhibitions: Tea & Coffee World Cup Asia, Vietnam

This year's Tea & Coffee World Cup Asia, which took place from 10 to 12 June, opened a new market by locating to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. This was a good platform to introduce Rooibos to the Asian market, to educate people about Rooibos and to create awareness of Rooibos. See photographs.

Revised sensory wheel explains the aroma and flavour of Honeybush

"Fynbos-floral", "woody" and "fynbossweet". This is how the new Honeybush sensory wheel explains some of the aroma and flavour attributes of this indigenous plant after testing 150 batches of Honeybush tea. Sensory wheels serve as communication and quality control tools for the Honeybush and Rooibos tea industry. Read more.

From Wupperthal to Los Angeles - Rooibos country's Riel dancers are doing us proud

In July this year, a group of Riel dancers called Die Nuwe Graskoue Trappers from in and around Wupperthal in the Cederberg area took part in the World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, winning 13 medals and two trophies. Rooibos Ltd was one of the sponsors making this journey possible.

Galileo, a science programme on ProsiebenSat1 Germany, featured a short video on how Rooibos is grown and harvested. ProsiebenSat1 is Europe's biggest private TV network. The Rooibos clip formed part of a series called "How does it grow?"

Rooibos Ltd sponsors Gala Dinner at Heritage Association's Symposium

Rooibos Ltd, together with Cederberg Winery, will be sponsoring the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony of the 13th annual symposium of the Heritage Association of South Africa. The symposium will take place from 15 to 17 October 2015. Floris Smit, Executive Chef at Bushmans Kloof will be preparing a three-course Rooibos-inspired dinner.

Rooibos Ltd gives acknowledgement to loyal employees

The company recently gave long service awards to Amanda Theron, Company Secretary (25 years) and Pieter Brandt, Machine Operator (20 years) for their commitment to the growth of Rooibos Ltd over so many years. "Loyal employees are as important as loyal clients. They form the backbone of this company," said Gerda de Wet, Communication Manager at Rooibos Ltd.

New Human Resource Manager at Rooibos Ltd

Andriëtte Muller was promoted from Personnel Officer to Human Resource Manager at Rooibos Ltd. "Her responsibilities now include the management of one of Rooibos Ltd's most valuable resources - its people," says Martin Bergh, MD at Rooibos Ltd.
