SOLARWORLD LEADS SOUTH AFRICA TO SELF-SUFFICIENCY

Bonn (e12.info) - The solar panel manufacturer SolarWorld leads the South African market by directly supplying concepts to local companies. The manufacturer has installed a solar system with a 1 MW capacity on the roofs of the warehouses of tea processor Rooibos Ltd in Clanwilliam. Thanks to this system, this agricultural company can now meet its energy needs almost exclusively through self-generated solar power, the Bonner Solar Group said. The trend towards the direct use of solar power has been observed for some time now, in particular on farms. SolarWorld helps agricultural exporters whose clients in Europe and the USA require them to lower their greenhouse gas emissions. Rooibos Ltd can now offer a product with a lower environmental footprint thanks to solar power. SolarWorld adapted this system to allow for self-sufficiency in terms of electricity needs.
