Rooibos Ltd together with Rooibos farmers initiate Rooibos Research Association
The growing need to generate and share new knowledge on Rooibos production has led to the establishment of the new Rooibos Research Association (RRA) (Afrikaans: Rooibos Navorsingsassosiasie or RNA for short) in March 2014. Rooibos Ltd designs and coordinates research projects based on the needs of producers. The RRA is funded and managed by Rooibos Ltd.

Current production research projects are focusing on:

  • Soil nutritional deficiencies
  • Soil carbon deficiencies
  • Soil micro life status
  • Soil pathogens
  • Nematodes
  • Plant genetics
  • Cultivation methods
  • Insect control
  • Plant physiology

RRA meetings
The following meetings were arranged: Agterpakhuys and Nardouwsberg on 10 June 2014, Clanwilliam North and South on 11 June 2014, Wupperthal on 12 June 2014, Vanrhynsdorp and Nieuwoudtville on 17 June 2014 and Citrusdal and Sandveld on 18 June 2014.
