Artist paints portraits on tiny Rooibos teabags

Zimbabwean-born Jeanne-Marie Webb, who now lives in Cape Town, paints delicate portraits on Rooibos teabags. The concept behind her year-long "One Face a Day" project, which was recently exhibited in the Mother City, started a few years ago when she searched for the perfect miniature substrate for her paintings. She said she stumbled upon a tattered old Rooibos teabag one night while rummaging through a box and thought she would give it a try. It proved to be the perfect canvas for her portraits. Webb has been invited to visit various studios in the USA later this year to share her process of painting on Rooibos teabags.
