The Honeybush sensory wheel

Sensory wheels serve as tools to describe the complexity of flavours and aromas in food products and to measure adherence to quality standards. "Based on the Rooibos sensory wheel, it was decided to also develop a sensory wheel for Honeybush," explained Collette Cronjé, Quality Assurance Manager at Rooibos Ltd. The Honeybush sensory wheel was developed jointly by the SA Honeybush Tea Association (SAHTA), the Agricultural Research Council (ARC Infruitec-Nietvoorbij) and Stellenbosch University's Department of Food Science.
