Brewing beer with Rooibos

The recent craftbeer brewing competition among South African students led to the creation of “Rooibos beer” by the team from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. The team, comprising fourth-year BTech student Terence Keeling, fellow food technology students Arshad Parker, Ryan Morkel, Heinrich Meyer, a German exchange student, and their lecturer, Tony Obilana, were named the challenge's overall winner for their unique lager. According to them, “tea leaves added during fermentation brought about the perfect taste and colour for the beer”.
