Rooibos Ltd sponsors Flower Bowls Tournament

This is the third year that Rooibos Ltd has been sponsoring the Clanwilliam Wild-Flower Bowls Tournament which took place from 17 to 19 August. Over the past 23 years, this tournament has become an annual highlight for bowling enthusiasts.

A total of 14 teams (56 players) participated in this year's event. They came from as far afield as Durbanville, Bredasdorp, Grootbrak, Langebaan and Velddrif. Among the participants were Henry Fourie, his daughter Hermien and his granddaughter Ezile – representing three generations of bowlers. Two Protea players – Anneke Snyman and Ezile Fourie – also took part in the tournament.

Stewart Marchant's team from George Club won the tournament, while John Gray and his team from Grootbrak took second place and Albert Kriel and his team from Old Oak finished in third place. For some of the teams this has been their eleventh tournament "because of Clanwilliam's hospitality and friendly people".

Nico Stander, President of Clanwilliam Bowling Club, thanked Rooibos Ltd for its financial support and involvement in the community. He also thanked Rooibos Ltd for the goody bags presented to each player and for the branding displayed at the event "which helped to attract visitors to come and watch the games". He also thanked Gerda de Wet, Communication Manager at Rooibos Ltd, for her presence during the tournament and her involvement with the prize-giving event.

Said Nico: "Rooibos Ltd's sponsorship allowed us to offer substantial cash prizes, meals and morning teas. The feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive with huge appreciation for our sponsor. The management and members of Clanwilliam Bowling Club thank Rooibos Ltd for this."
